The Art of the Perfect Shirt

The best businesses are often born out of a dissatisfaction for a product or service and the need for something which suits all of your needs, and Green and Jacks is no different.

Green and Jacks are the UK's first ever online bespoke shirt-makers - meaning you can now design your shirt, to your specification from your home or office, no need to spend hours in a store being measured or wearing shirts you're not 100% happy with anymore.

Considering most guys wear a shirt five days a week, that's a lot of time to be unhappy with what you're wearing. Now, in case you are in any doubt about how much influence you have over the design, Green and Jacks offer: eight collar designs, nine cuff shapes and two cuff styles, three hem styles, various button plackets and back darts options....that sound enough for you?

Pricing wise these guys are no more expensive than any other good quality shirt so you've really got no excuse now to not always look sharp in the office.

We caught up with Green and Jacks to find out their top three tips when choosing a shirt:

  1. The collar of the perfect shirt should lie flat against the neck and fit snugly with just enough room for you to insert two fingers between the neck and collar comfortably
  2. The sleeves ought to reach three centimetres under your wrist bone, and the shoulder seam should hit your shoulder exactly
  3. The fabric should skim your chest and back comfortably, without pulling

Three is the Magic Number - Eau de Lacoste L.12.12

Lacoste have been busy designing not one but three new male scents. These classic scents are based on the iconic Lacoste polo shirt originally designed by Rene Lacoste himself and first appearing in 1927. The three fragrances are distinguished by the bold colours which are synonymous with the brand; green, white and blue and are called Blanc, Bleu and Vert.
Blanc - ideal for evening with a crisp top note of grapefruit
Bleu - powerful gents will love this, with a unique bite of icy peppermint
Vert - a relaxed outdoor scent with a unique bamboo wood accord

All three fragrances are available now from The Perfume Shop priced £39.99 for 100ml

Lipstick for Men - Bulldogs to that!

Bulldog, the UK's largest skincare brand for men, by its very name conjures up images of masculinity and real men, none of this metrosexual rubbish for them.....you'd think.

I'm open to new experiences just as much as the next man (insert a smutty joke of your choosing here at will) but when I found out about their latest product I couldn't help but think they'd gone a step too far.

However, i'm man enough to admit that maybe I was wrong. I was lucky enough to be given a sneak tester of the new Bulldog Lipstick and, just like the claims state, it really did leave my lips feeling moist and plump, at only £7.99 this is a product that no man should ever be without. The only downside I found was that it is currently only available in one shade, let's hope they expand the range in time for its first anniversary on 1 April 2012.
